About me
Kenya Sullivan, LCSW, is a UC Berkeley–trained behavioral-health professional, Master Certified Trainer, curriculum developer, and professional development presenter with 15 years of experience spanning higher education, behavioral health, juvenile justice, corrections, family court services, and community-based systems. His multidisciplinary career includes work as a graduate and continuing-education instructor, clinician, psychiatric case manager, deputy probation officer, juvenile detention counselor, correctional trainer, forensic practitioner, and nonclinical well-being case manager. This cross-sector experience gives Kenya an understanding of how stress, trauma, behavioral health, system involvement, and complex life circumstances can affect engagement, decision-making, relationships, performance, belonging, and persistence. A former UC Berkeley Extension Behavioral Sciences instructor, Kenya has developed and delivered research-informed curricula for community colleges, K–12 districts, probation departments, behavioral-health professionals, and California corrections audiences. His work is distinguished by an ability to translate peer-reviewed behavioral-health research into practical strategies professionals can apply in real-world settings. Through presentations and professional development on chronic stress, trauma, behavioral health, justice-impacted students, belonging, motivation, and institutional response, Kenya helps leaders move beyond awareness toward informed action. His trainings equip administrators, faculty, staff, and student-support professionals with the insight, language, and tools needed to strengthen communication, behavioral responsiveness, well-being, student engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
